Mission Statement of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish

St. Francis of Assisi Parish ,  Norristown , takes its identity from Christ who died, who rose and who will come again. We take our Mission From Christ who gave to his disciples the command, “Go and teach all nations, Baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”.

As a parish committed to the Lord in the mystery of His Word and Sacraments, we seek to live fully and share generously the faith that comes to us from the apostles.

With the help of the Spirit who inspires every good action and  brings good works to completion, we renew our commitment to know, love and serve the Lord within the community of His Church by cherishing the following goals:

* To worship God with fidelity, in spirit and in truth;

* To teach as Jesus did, both in word and deed;

* To encourage all persons and especially children, to love the Lord with heart, soul, mind and strength;

* To serve all persons, but especially our brothers and sisters who are socially and spiritually marginalized;

* To stand up for all innocent life, to respect the vocation of Christian marriage and the challenge of the Christian life;

* To be disciples in the spirit of Mary, the handmaid of the Lord and first who received the Word made flesh.

As a Pilgrim People, a  Servant People and an Easter People, we rejoice in the faith that by God’s grace we are proud to profess through Christ Our Lord.
